"Hello Mindy"

Sometimes I just think too much. When I drew my water brush, I was wondering WHY I was drawing it. Then, I realized that's the point of Everyday Matters. I need to stop thinking so much and just enjoy the process, even when my results are less than perfect. I want the freedom to just create, enjoy, and learn.

I've decided that my art brings me joy, so why do I resist it at times?

hmmm, this makes me think of a 12 step program. "Hello. My name is Mindy and I'm a perfection-holic." "Hello, Mindy."

thanks! I have a lot of thoughts rolling around in my brain and sometimes I can put them into words better than into sketches... sometimes I can do both :-)

I love the bookshelf, it looks great! Very funny post too! Can I ask you what is a LDS mum?

Awesome bookshelf mom! Kazumiwannabe: we are apart of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, so we are LDS (Mormon).

I love the books on the shelf! And I'm glad art brings you so much joy. I hope you never stop feeling that way.

Kazumiwannabe - thanks for asking about what an LDS mum is. My daughter (katie) answered with a good response :-)

and Lynn - art does bring me joy. The amount of time that I spend on it ebbs and flows, but I know it will be part of my life forever, in some capacity.

I need that anonymous group of yours! I have never thought of myself as a perfectionist but I sure hate it when my drawing and painting don't come out how I want them to.

I like your sketchy drawings. I have to learn how to let loose like that myself.
